Committee Meeting November 2, 2006.

We had a committee meeting on 11/2 at Ned's attended by all committee members except George who was traveling.

Finance:

Due to the small turnout for the tournament at Herndon we had a small loss from that event as we had to subsidize the prizes.  We have over $4000 in the bank from which we owe around $2000 for the balance of the 401C filing and some of the payout for the matchplay.

Membership:

Kevin Connolly was voted in as a member having fulfilled all the necessary criteria.  Johnny Wallace, who played as a replacement at the last minute in the Ryder Cup was also voted in.  Dave Kane and Paul Geraghty have applications pending.

November Tournament:

The November Tournament will be held at Reston National on December 2nd.  The sign up will be on the website shortly.

Matchplay:

Congratulations to Andre who beat The Kid Kaiser on the 18th green in a very exciting match.  EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT A PLAYER NEEDS TO PAY IMMEDIATELY SO WE CAN PAY OUT THE WINNERS.

Golf area in the pub:

The plaques will be updated shortly showing Alice as the Strokeplay Champion and Andre as the Club Champion.  We are also looking for a Hole in One plaque to show all the members who have had a hole in one during a Ned's event:  Paddy, Trevor, Matt, Phil and Myself.

January Event:

We are planning an indoor competition at Ned's in Sterling courtesy of the John O'Leary Golf Academy.  Stay tuned for details.

Publicity:

We are trying to get articles about this great society into local papers and national/local golf magazines.  If anyone has any contacts please let me know

Charity:

Next years preferred charitable partner will be decided by the next committee.  In the mean time it was decided to make a donation to Loudoun Care Givers who took the time to attend a committee meeting and to solicit a donation.

End of February away trip:

We are evaluating The Caribbean, Florida, Texas, Arizona, New Orleans and, of course, last years resort in Charleston is still an option.  This trip will be around the last week in February.  The cost will be kept to around $600 or less and will include airfare, accommodation and golf.  The sign up will also be on the website shortly.

Annual General Meeting:

The AGM will be held at 4pm on Saturday January 13th.  PLEASE ATTEND THIS EVENT AS IT IS YOUR CHANCE TO VOTE FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND TO HAVE ANY ISSUES YOU MIGHT HAVE BE DISCUSSED.
