Committee Meeting March 9, 2006.

A committee meeting was held tonight at Ned's attended by all the committee except Carl.

Finance:

We have $3500 in the account and, with current obligations and what is due in we are in good shape.  The new bank account will be Set up in a few weeks.

The finance report was accepted after being proposed by Paddy and seconded by Dave. It was agreed to give a $50 Ned's certificate to Judy's assistant for her efforts past and future in printing the membership cards.

It was agreed to pay Archinects $500 for past and future work on the website.

It was agreed that any member with an official handicap does not need to pay the $20 handicap fee but must have a valid card at each event.

501C 7 Status:

Dave L and Johnny signed the relevant papers.  We will have a temporary status in 2 weeks.

Old Hickory Event:

The cost will be $75

The format is 2 man best ball stableford

The draw will be held on 3/24 and will be random. There will be a split of handicaps and one player will be selected from the low and high handicap groups.

Winter rules will apply (lift, clean and place in your own fairway)

Prizes will be as follows:  $160 each first, $100 each second, $75 each third, $40 each fourth and $25 each fifth.  There will also be two closest to the pin prizes.

We will contribute $100 to the charity of choice of the winner

Handicaps:

Every member will have an official Virginia Golf Association handicap by the tournament.  Each tournament your score will be input.  You can also go on line and input any score you have when playing in other rounds.

Shirts:

We are endeavoring to have shirts for the new members in time for the tournament.

Membership Cards:

The cards are now in  the pub.

Raffle:

We will hold the same raffle as last year except we will sell $600 tickets.  One prize:  4 round trip tickets to Ireland and car rental and accommodation.  600 tickets, $20 each.  tickets will be on sale at the Old Hickory party.  The draw will take place after the April event.

Matchplay:

The party, draw and auction will take place at the Old Hickory party. It will be random, no seeding.

The auction will take place before the draw is made.

Payment must be made as soon as your player is knocked out.

If a player is bought, a half share must be sold back to the player if the player so desires.

The prize money will be decided when the auction is finished.

Social Event:

The social will take place toward the end of the year.
