We had a committee meeting last night attended by all members except Andre who was in New Jersey:
Finance: We have over $4,500 in the bank account. as long as we are successful in selling all 600 raffle tickets this year we Will be able to subsidize the strokeplay and other events.
Membership: Only 18 have renewed so far. Please get your checks to Randy Moake, PO Box 710782, Herndon, VA 20171 as soon as possible ($130). If you are not renewing please let me know as soon as possible.
Calendar for 2008: See attached schedule. Please note all tournaments are on Saturdays. The cost is $80 for the golf, cart, drinks, discounted food, prizes.
April trip: We have booked a weekend trip to the Williamsburg area to play the fabulous Royal New Kent and Stonehouse golf courses on April 5th and 6th. The cost for the golf, condo accommodation and a steak dinner is $219. Please sign up immediately as we have limited space. Send the check to Randy Moake at the above address.
Matchplay: We will hold the auction and draw on the 22nd after the March event. Please note one important change regarding payment. As we are still trying to collect over $1000 from last year, a totally unacceptable situation, this year, if you don't pay prior to the round of 32 you will forfeit all winnings. Make sure you are at the draw, it is always a great night.
Please email me if you want to sign up to play. For those of you who don't know we do an NCAA type of draw and you have a month to play each round. Details will follow separately. First prize last year was $4000 and its free to enter! This year we will pay out for the top 16.
Honorary membership: It was proposed and unanimously approved to award an honorary membership to Johnny Shields for his 4 years of service as Vice Captain and committee member. Thanks Johnny!
