We held a meeting last night at Ned's attended by all the committee except Wayne and Stevie.
Finance: Randy presented the monthly statement which shows a healthy balance of over $4000. Finances are well on track to a successful year but we need to sell all the raffle tickets this year to allow us to sponsor the strokeplay trip.
Membership: Almost one half have paid the renewal. Please pay immediately. You cannot play in a tournament if you haven't paid. If you are not renewing, please have the courtesy to let me know.
VA Oaks: Please see separate email for details on this months first event. The free bar for players will open at 6pm. John C, John E, Luke and Pete are all playing with a committee member and will be voted in as full members at the next committee meeting.
Matchplay: The draw is on Saturday, along with the auction. We still have 8 spots open. If you intend to come to the auction please start your own tab if you have not played at VA Oaks. That tab is for those players only. You are on the honors system as it is not possible for the bartender to know who played and who did not. We have one additional rule to those already posted and that is that if a lady plays a man then the strokes are given according to the handicap index of the player getting strokes. If you cannot attend and want to bid on yourself or someone else let me know and we will bid for you.
Raffle: The tickets are not available. I will be emailing you with your numbers if you have renewed and I will fill out the stubs and record the numbers. Please buy or sell more as we really need to sell out this year. They will be available at the tournament Saturday.
Ryder Cup: VA Oaks is the first qualifier for the Ryder Cup. Your scores will be documented and the low three will go toward qualification
Flight prizes: We are dividing the society into two flights and keeping $5 from each entry fee to go toward flight prizes at the end of the year. 4 low scores will count toward these prizes.
John O'Leary Golf Academy: John has again come up with a fantastic deal for members this year. Please see separate email and respond immediately. The response last year was fabulous and everyone agreed that the quality of instruction is exceptional.
